Byron Riggins will graduate with a master's degree in interdisciplinary marine and estuarine sciences from San Francisco State University's Estuary and Ocean Science Center in 2020. His graduate research focuses on beds of rockweed (Fucus distichus), a brown algae which provides multiple benefits for invertebrate prey of fish and shorebirds in an urbanized estuary. Riggins was also a science intern with the Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide.
During his fellowship, Riggins will be working with the Collaborative Science and Peer Review Unit of the Delta Science Program.
