Caroline (Carrie) Pomeroy, PhD, is a social scientist based at the University of California, Santa Cruz, who previously served as a California Sea Grant Extension Specialist. Her work focuses on the human dimensions – the social, cultural and economic aspects – of California fisheries, broader marine social-ecological systems, and associated governance. Her work is aimed at identifying research-based solutions to opportunities and challenges facing fisheries and fishing communities in particular and the broader range of ocean users more generally. Pomeroy earned her PhD from Texas A&M University, master’s degree from the University of Miami, and bachelor’s degree from Yale University.
