James Chhor received his Master of Science from the California State University, Long Beach in 2021. and specialized in marine biology. His thesis explored the effects of microplastic and leachate exposure on larval California grunion (Leuresthes tenuis). James’ experiment exposed the developing larvae to microplastics and leachate from both virgin and environmentally exposed sources of microplastics and found that exposure did reduce growth rates compared to the control larvae.
