Keighley Lane earned a Master of Advanced Studies degree in marine biodiversity and conservation from Scripps Institution of Oceanography in 2019. While there, she created a report for a northern Californian tribal nation that analyzed spatial data and traditional ecological knowledge related to declining spawning runs of surf smelt (Hypomesus pretiosus).
Lane expects to be assisting NOAA Southwest Fisheries Science Center’s Regional Aquaculture Coordinator and the Genetics, Physiology, and Aquaculture Program Leader with a variety of collaborative and regionally specific projects.
