Kristy is a recent graduate from UC San Diego, having completed a B.S. in Biophysics. In 2019-2020, she worked with extension specialist Theresa Talley, assessing contaminants found in shellfish around the San Diego Bay for the SD Bay project. Additionally, she worked with Theresa on a project geared toward increasing local seafood consumption by updating the California Sea Grant website's seafood profiles, showcasing species that can be found and caught in San Diego waters. She hopes to apply her background in physics to future ventures in the fields of marine science and ecology.
