Megan Wood received her master's in biology from Sonoma State University in 2008. 

As a state fellow with NOAA's Coastal Services Center, she developed, managed, and coordinated workshops and trainings for decision makers and managers, participated in policy and management issues such as climate change, marine reserves, ecosystem-based management, and composed syntheses, letters of support, and other documents to support engagement in local and regional policies and management actions.
