Nick Sadrpour earned his M.S. in Coastal and Watershed Science and Policy from California State University Monterey Bay, and a B.S. in Environmental Science from Loyola Marymount University. Sadrpour is a coastal scientist focused on understanding dynamics and management of coastal resources in California. Prior to joining California Sea Grant, Sadrpour worked with the University of Southern California (USC) Sea Grant Program, leading the Regional AdaptLA program connecting coastal stakeholders to promote creative solutions to coastal issues in the LA area. He is an avid surfer and ocean enthusiast, driven to build collaborative efforts to promote the use and stewardship of coastal resources. Sadrpour is also an alumnus of the California Sea Grant State Fellows Program.
Expertise
- Coastal management and policy
- Sediment management and coastal processes
- Sea level rise impacts and adaptation
- Coastal hazards
Research
Sadrpour is interested in understanding the dynamic between coastal processes and management of resources in California. Specifically considering climate change impacts, such as sea level rise, Sadrpour works to ensure information can help prepare communities for coastal hazards now and in the future.
Extension and Outreach
Serving as part of the California Sea Grant’s Science Integration Team, Sadrpour links science to policy through engagement and interaction with coastal managers, research scientists, and stakeholders. Sadrpour’s goal is to extend the results of California Sea Grant research on coastal problems to local, state and federal agencies, and other stakeholders.
