Ross Cooper graduated with a Master of Advanced Studies in marine biodiversity and conservation from Scripps Institution of Oceanography in 2019. While there, his capstone research focused on spatial and temporal patterns of opah fisheries in the North Pacific Ocean, and delineated boundaries between different opah species.

Cooper will be working with the Surface Water Ambient Monitoring Program (SWAMP) to characterize environmental and biological factors in various waterways.
