Samuel Funakoshi joined California Sea Grant’s Russian River Salmon and Steelhead Monitoring Program in 2021, for his term with California Conservation Corps’ Watershed Stewards Program. He graduated from San Jose State University with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and a minor in Environmental Restoration. He interned with three environmental non-profits prior to joining California Sea Grant and is looking forward to learning everything he can from working in the Russian River watershed.
