Fellowship Type: Science Communication
The California Sea Grant Science Communication Fellowship
This opportunity provides a year-long professional development experience in science communication, working in the California Sea Grant office in La Jolla, California. Science communication fellows have the opportunity to do science writing for various audiences including the general public, resource managers, and policymakers; produce visual, multimedia, video, web, or audio products to communicate research or topics relevant to California Sea Grant’s focus areas; produce and publishcontent for social media and analyzing engagement in order to adapt practices to changing trends; write or contribute to reports and other communications about California Sea Grant impacts and accomplishments for funding and agency audiences at national and state level; and collaborate with California Sea Grant extension specialists, funded researchers, and/or Sea Grant fellows to develop and distribute communication products.
The fellowship is open to recent graduate students in a field related to science communication, journalism, or science, at a U.S. university.
